FINGER PATHS ist eine Spieltechnik für die Rahmentrommel in der lap-style-Position. Sie besteht aus kleinen einzelnen Modulen oder Zellen, die jeweils eine Kombination von Singlestrokes und Doublestrokes mit verschiedenen Fingern in beiden Händen sind. Diese Zellen sind vergleichbar mit den „Rudiments", die die Basis für das Spielen einer Snaredrum mit Sticks sind. Die Kombination der einzelnen Zellen und zusätzliche Variationen für die rechte Hand ermöglichen hunderte interessanter Grooves. Den Kombinations- und Einsatzmöglichkeiten in verschiedenen Stilistiken, für Fills oder Solos und in jeder Taktart sind keine Grenzen gesetzt. Für Framedrummer/innen, die ihr Vokabular auf der Trommel erweitern möchten, ist FINGER PATHS eine ideale Möglichkeit, neue eigene Grooves zu kreieren.

FINGER PATHS is a playing technique for lap-style frame drum. It's built on small modules or cells that combine single and double strokes by different fingers in both hands. These cells are comparable to snare drum rudiments. Through combination of the cells plus several variations for the right (or strong) hand you can create hundreds of interesting grooves and expand your musical vocabulary on the drum. The possibilities to use the FINGER PATHS system are unlimited. It can be incorporated in any style or playing situation, works nicely for playing fills or solos and can be adapted to any time signature.
The video trailer contains a few snippets from the instructional FINGER PATHS video (length 34 minutes). The FINGER PATHS book explains the technique, its cells and many ways of combination step by step on 22 pages. There is work for weeks and months. I've been exploring FINGER PATHS since spring 2020 and I'm still discovering new things. Both book and instructional video are in English.
